September Roundup

As I've started blogging more I thought I'd give you a quick overview of september's blogposts. Sticking to my new schedule there is 'Beauty' on Mondays, 'Lifestyle' on Wednesdays and 'Fashion' or 'The Week's Nail' alternately. My favourite posts have been 'The Beauty: Quenching skin's thirst' and 'The Life: 5 things about camping'.

P.S. I loved Jenny Purr's 'It's Still Okay To Not Be Okay', Katy Mitten's aka LittleWinter's 'We thought: Life' and Brittany's aka life, set sail's 'FOTD - Coloured Lids'.

The Beauty: Quenching skin's thirst

It's definitely getting colder where I live and I've just overcome my first (of probably many to come..) colds. The air gets dry and a lot of people suffer from dry skin, itchy patches and an overall dull look. Because of my eczema my skin reacts extremely to the impact of weather and climate changes and over the years I've found some (affordable) products that really help me keep dry skin at bay.

The Outfit: Day in Lucca

Sleeveless blouse and trousers from United Colors of Benetton // necklace from Bijou Brigitte // sunglasses from H&M // shoes from a small shop in Malagá, Spain // blue leather bag from the leather market in Firenze, Italy // ring from a market in Lit et Mixe, France // Nailpolish is Korres 'Coral'

I just adore this colour combination of a light dusty grey and light turqoise. The dark blue bag compliments the combination as well and I think really pulls it all together.

The Interior: Livingroom Moodboard

source: @dariadaria_com
When I saw Maddie's beautiful photo of her livingroom on instagram (look here!) a couple of weeks ago I immediately wanted to redo our livingroom a bit. I'm in the middle of the process now and wanted to share some inspirational photos with you!

The Current Favourite #5

I did my last 'current favourites' post just about a month ago, but I already got some new products I'm loving and really need to mention them here.

The Week's Nail: #10

As the days are getting colder and greyer I'm gravitating more towards lighter muted colour than during summer. To embrace the last sparks of my tan I love wearing a nudy light rose polish. My current favourite is Essie 'Spin the Bottle' from a limited edition this year. It's the perfect every day colour and looks really polished and chic. With two coats applied the polish is opaque and lasts about five days without chipping which truly is amazing. Perfect for everyday and for every outfit.

The Life: 5 things I love

Discovering beautiful playlists on Spotify. I've been on the road lately quite a lot (holidays, visiting my boyfriends family...) and have really enjoyed listening to playlists composed by other people. My current favourite is Feelgood Indie, you can find it here.

Harvesting lavender at my boyfriends family's house. Decorated onto a plate or tray, lying in your closet or just put into a vase lavender not only smells incredible, but also looks beautiful.

Drinking hot chocolate in the morning. I don't like coffee and so I've never really had a morning routine of drinking something hot and having that kind of start into the day. But over the last couple of weeks I've really been loving a hot chocolate in the mornings (and a cup of tea just before bedtime).

Reading blogs whilst drinking hot chocolate and eating breakfast. There has never been anything more relaxing.

Getting into a new blogging routine. Beauty on mondays, lifestyle on wednesday, fashion or week's nail on friday. The ideas really have been flowing since I've finished my bachelor and blogposts are already planned until the end of october. I've been so inspired that I already thought about a daily blogging routine, but I probably couldn't handle that during my master..

The Wishlist: September 2014

September Wishlist
One thing I really enjoy about autumn is to wear makeup more often and don't have it messed up at hot sweaty days. This year all I want to wear is bright, but still autumnal lipcolours, a shimmering complexion on my cheeks and as usual beautiful nudes on my eyes. For nailpolishes I love these muted autumnal tones from Essie. We'll see what will really wander into my shoppingbasket..
(1) Maybelline Color Elixir in 'Hibiscus Haven-110' and 'Signature Scarlet-505' - (2) Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in '06 Pink pong' and '02 Frambourjoise' - (3) Bobbi Brown Limited Edition Shimmer Brick in 'Apricot' - (4) Bobbi Brown Brightening Blush in 'Bronze' - (5) Essie Nailpolishes in 'merino cool', 'fall in line' (Fall LE) and 'the perfect cover up' (Fall LE) - (6) Tarte Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette V2 for Fall 2014 - (7) Bobbi Brown Surf & Sand Eyeshadow Palette in 'Sand'

Are you eyeing any makeup gems for the colder months?

The Style: Jewellry & french additions

I've always loved jewellry and whenever I go on holiday I love to visit little markets and look for new pieces not particularly everyone will have. Although I love big statement necklaces I've been opting for quite small and delicate jewellry lately and whilst in France I added some new pieces to my collection.

The Beauty: Dove Oil Repair

Once you've smelled the Dove Oil Care Range you are completely sold to the product, no matter how good it is. And I tell you: it's brilliant! At the beginning of the year I bought the leave-in conditioner / hair oil, because I wanted my frizzy ends to look more polished and feel more healthy (I didn't have the time to get a chop.. Really!). The Dove Oil Care Spray can be sprayed onto damp and dry hair. I often spray this onto my damp ends to detangle them and after drying to make them look more polished and shiny. It really softens your hair and the smell this leaves to your hair is just divine. Loving the smell so much I was on the hunt for another product with the same smell and found the Dove Oil Care 1 Minute Treatment that doubles up as conditioner and treatment at ones. Just as the leave-in spray it smells incredible and leaves your hair feeling soft and nourished.

Have you tried any products of this range yet? And do you know any other products that just smell divine?

The Week's Nail: #9

Although it's not quite summery where I live at the moment (we're actually talking about cold heavy rain here...) I'm loving this mint pastel blue nailpolish by kiko. Especially with my tan this really embraces a glowing summer look. I'm talking about KIKO in '345 Jade Green' which takes one coat for an opaque look and two coats if you really want your nails to look perfect. This polish drys within a couple of minutes (so I always apply two coats!) and lasts about four days without chipping.
